Mami’s Mole Sauce is a traditional Mexican sauce that is often used to accompany meat, but can be used with vegetables, over rice, or to make enchiladas. Our mole has a rich, complex flavor which comes from a mixture of over twenty ingredients. It is a spicy, savory, and slightly sweet sauce, with hints of cinnamon and chocolate. Besides being organic, what makes this mole unique is that it is completely vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free.
The word “mole” (pronounced mō-lay) comes from the Nahuatl word “mōlli,” which means sauce. Different regions in Mexico have modified the original mole sauce, adding their own ingredients, depending on their location. The best known variation of mole is Mole Poblano. Our Mami’s Mole Sauce is similar to a Mole Poblano, but it is a unique mole based on my mother’s recipe.

Our mole sauce is freshly made with no preservatives. It must be refrigerated at all times, and is best if used within 40 days.
